Leadership Changes

As most of you know, Bill Ferst will be taking over as Cubmaster. He’s got a great team supporting him. Daisy Wright will be taking over as committee chairman. Jon Blackburn will be picking up treasurer duties, as well as remaining Webelos Den Leader. Brenda Hanawalt is joining the committee, and is particular interested in the camp planning. Heidi McLane and David Grafmiller return on the committee, with the Grafmillers (David & Jodi) taking parade duties. Jon, Jodi, Jon Mawer, April Tusing, and Maria Herbert also remain as Den Leaders. Folks, don’t let these guys have all the fun. Volunteer for something! We are looking for committee members and a parent coordinator. Many hands make light work! See Daisy or Bill for more info.

Pack overnighter

We will be having our Pack Overnighter Saturday, June 5 at Scout Village, Sycamore, OH. Camp will start in the afternoon/evening, so hopefully we won’t conflict with baseball games too bad. We’ve had a great time the last couple of years, and we look to have another. Planned activities include a scavenger hunt, outdoor cooking, and hiking around the camp. We’ll break camp on Sunday morning after breakfast. Stayed tuned from the outdoor committee for more information. There is a planning meeting on May 20 at 6:00pm at John Stewart in one of the upstairs rooms.

Fair Pass

since the pack puts up a display, all pack members and leaders are eligible for a exhibitor pass. Details are on the attached sheet. You need to get a photo for the pass. We get a percentage back of all exhibitor passes sold, so its helps us out a little too! The pass is really inexpensive and is a heck of a deal, especially if you’re like me and go to the fair every day!

Every year the Pack gets to make a display for the Junior Fair. We also march in the opening parade, and sometimes we’ve helped with the national anthem and flag raising. Jodi Grafmiller and Jon Blackburn and coordinating the fair booth. See them to help out. The theme this year is “All roads lead to the fair”.

Webelos Resident Camp

We will be attending the Webelos Residence Camp at Camp Berry Findlay OH. If you are a Webelo, or will be a Webelo next year (Bear now), you are eligible. See you leader (Jon or Jodi) for dates.

Summer Camp

the information for Heart of Ohio Council’s summer camp programs are now available. We have a few hard copies, at http://www.bsa-heartofohio.org. There are overnighter opportunities as well as residence and day camp options! You can really get a jump on your badge requirements at camp, and it’s a lot of fun too! Den leaders – let Bill or Daisy know if your Den plans to attend a camp as a unit. Parents – if your Scout wants to attend a camp other than with our unit, the camps will match you with another unit! Camps are also available at Camp Berry in Findlay, but they are not in our council (These camps tend to be a less expensive). Your den leaders have info on those, and we’ll put a link up as well on the website.

Memorial Day Parade

Pack 125 has traditionally participated in the Upper Sandusky Memorial Day (May 31) parade. We had a great turnout last year, and I know we can do the same again this year. Lineup is at the Library (9:00am) and ends at Harrison Smith Park at the Veterans Memorial. Last year we presented colors at the American Legion’s Memorial Day ceremony and heard a great speaker at the park. You can pick up your scout near the split rail fence beside the pool near the flagpole after the parade. Uniforms are required!

Memorial Day Parade

We will be marching in the Upper Sandusky Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day. The parade forms at the Library and ends at Harrison Smith Park. We will also attend the flag posting and the honor ceremony for past and current veterans. Please plan to attend.

Service Project

We have been invited by Pack 221 to participate in a park clean up and picnic at Harrison Smith park, on April 10 at 10:00am. After the cleanup, we’ll have some activities and lunch (hot dogs). Please bring a picnic style item to share.
